Lee Parent
For more than 30 years, I have helped organizations simplify one of their most important business functions—payroll. What I enjoy most is working with partners and customers to solve complex payroll challenges and helping them build processes they can trust.
My experience spans consulting, implementation, development, and ongoing support for organizations using Business Central. Over the years, I have successfully implemented Payroll and HR solutions for clients across Canada and the United States, serving industries including government, oil and gas, healthcare, education, construction, professional services, and sales organizations.
Working with such a diverse client base has given me extensive experience with union environments, multi-rate pay structures, multi-state taxation, benefit administration, complex earning scenarios, time-entry systems, and HR platforms. More importantly, it has taught me that every organization is unique, and successful payroll solutions require both technical expertise and a deep understanding of how people work.
My payroll journey has evolved alongside Microsoft's ERP platforms. I contributed to the development of payroll solutions for Great Plains and later worked on the payroll solution for Navision, which was distributed with the product for many years. Following Microsoft's acquisition of Navision and its evolution into Business Central 365, I continued supporting the payroll solution as it transitioned to the Microsoft Extension Marketplace as Payroll by Sylogist.
Today, I continue to work closely with the Microsoft partner community, helping partners and their customers implement, optimize, and support payroll solutions. I take pride in combining decades of payroll knowledge with a practical, customer-focused approach that helps organizations navigate complexity, remain compliant, and pay their employees with confidence.
David Debert
For more than 25 years, I have built my career around helping organizations solve one of their most important responsibilities: paying people accurately and on time. What began as an opportunity to work in payroll software grew into a passion for understanding both the technology and the people who rely on it every day.
Throughout my journey, I had the opportunity to help grow a startup software company into a successful multi-million-dollar organization. Along the way, I gained experience across nearly every aspect of the business, including product development, customer support, finance, sales, marketing, implementation, and regulatory compliance. These experiences gave me a deep appreciation for how different teams work together to create value for customers.
Most recently, as Product Manager for Payroll by Sylogist, I was responsible for guiding product strategy and ensuring our solutions met the evolving needs of organizations across Canada and the United States. What I enjoyed most was listening to customers, understanding their challenges, and translating their feedback into meaningful improvements that made their work easier and more efficient.
Before moving into product management, I spent more than 14 years building and leading technical support teams. Those years taught me the importance of empathy, communication, and trust. Working directly with customers gave me firsthand insight into their challenges and reinforced my belief that great products are built by truly understanding the people who use them.
Today, I am motivated by solving complex problems, bringing people together around a common vision, and creating solutions that make a meaningful difference. Whether working with customers, stakeholders, or cross-functional teams, I am passionate about building systems that deliver lasting value while never losing sight of the people they are designed to serve.
